With the announcement that Apple's
new hardware would feature Intel Core Duo processors now official as of MacWorld today, it's interesting to note that
the new "logo," as shown here to the right, doesn't appear to be anywhere on the MacBook Pro or iMac on the Apple site. Nor does it on the one Engadget got its hands on today. Over the summer, we -
along with our pals from TUAW - made our
statements known about whether or not the logo would be showing up on the hardware. For those that aren't familiar, Intel's "Intel Inside" program offers co-marketing funds to be given to hardware makers who mention Intel in their advertising. More details are available here. But given the "clean-ness" of the Apple machinery, it would be different from the norm for a blatant item such as the original "Intel Inside" decal to be stuck on the case - or would it? Last month, BusinessWeek's Arik Hesseldahl asked the question, re-raising the issue - but that didn't solve anything.
